Testimonials

Please again accept our deepest thanks for all your efforts and an excellent evening. Every one enjoyed the night & you were given many compliments and have made many friends. You will be pleased to know that we actually made £896 profit which was a fantastic result considering our earlier concerns on the numbers. Again thank you and we will keep in touch. Ian Robinson, Cleeve Prior Village Hall Fundraising Evening

May we extend to you a huge 'Thank You' for your wonderful talk on TuesdayThe combination of humour and knowledge you brought to us ensured a very lively and informative meeting. The feedback we have received from our members was very rewarding – several said it was the best talk we have had in the 8 years the club has been running. It is always a good sign when we have to throw everyone out at 5 pm. I shall be in touch with you in the New Year to arrange a return visit. Thank you once again for entertaining and inspiring us. Pat Edwards, Inkberrow Tuesday Afternoon Tea Club

Thank you for your informative and amusing talk. It was very well received by our members. I will think of the stuffed relative each time I enter a new house. We look forward to hearing more, perhaps next year. Sue, Chairman U3A Upper Nene Villages

This is just a note to thank you, once again, for the entertaining presentation you gave us on Monday evening. It was very informative, to understand the procedures for buying and selling at auction. Your stories were very good and caused us to laugh at some of the situations you found yourself in. I think all the members who offered treasures for valuation found it very interesting I know I did. All this put together gave us a very enjoyable evening. Linda New, Bugbrooke WI

Many thanks for attending our meeting last night and presenting such a great start to our New Year.  You have a natural wit about you which captivated us all and we loved the tales you recounted. Everyone really enjoyed it and some of us were (pleasantly) shocked at the value you put on certain items!  We will certainly start to treasure them more and if and when we start the down-sizing process, we will know where to come! Thank you again - it was a pleasure to meet you. I do hope you had a good trip back. Kind regards on behalf of us all. Linda Jones, Secretary, Abingdon Evening WI

I would like to thank you for your all time and support for this fund raising event. The evening was most enjoyable especially your talk and the competition and what a result from the auction! I am very pleased to report that we raised over £600 on the night which is a fabulous result and will be certainly most welcome to finance the village hall ongoing maintenance costs. So please accept our appreciation for supporting this event and do hope we meet up again in the future. James, Longborough

How on earth do we thank you enough for what you did for us on Saturday evening.  We have had some wonderful feedback from those that were there and, with your generosity throughout the evening one way and another, I have paid £1,228.56 into the bank today after taking out all expenses.  An amazing amount.  The evening was enormous fun and everyone seemed to enter into the spirit of things.  Lots of laughs and smiling faces – especially from those who were pleased with their valuations!!!  The quiz was fascinating and the talk was highly entertaining!! The vicar commented today about the really good atmosphere there. Jane O’Dell, Organiser of the Antiques Valuation Evening at Mappleborough Green Village Hall held on 18th April in support of Morton Bagot and Oldberrow Churches with a donation to Hope & Kindness.

It was lovely you could visit the Shropshire Antiques Society again and give us such an interesting insight on what to look out for at Auction Rooms. I am sure the members found it very useful and, judging by the comments afterwards, thoroughly enjoyed it. Ruth King, Programme Secretary, Shropshire Antiques Society

Many, many thanks for coming to talk to us last night and for making it such an interesting evening for all of us. It was lovely to see so many examples of the various types of silver and to learn a little about how to recognise their various finer points. Speaker Secretary, Midland Antique Collectors’ Circle

Thank you yet again for such an entertaining evening yesterday. Our members and guests thoroughly enjoyed your talk on Browsing Antique Shops and also the valuations you kindly did for all the antique / collectable items they had brought in. There were lots of positive comments as people left the hall about how much they had enjoyed the evening. Diane McLaren DSc PhD, Bishopstone with Hinton Parva WI
